Instead of pounding away at it mindlessly with her naked fists – –
Dan Slott’s She-Hulk run was one of the first comics I completely read. It is a lot of fun but I decided to give the original shot a try. I know Byrne’s run is really were regarded and that the character was created for copyright purposes but how is the actual comic? I decided to check it out. This time – issue 5 of Savage She-Hulk – Crawler in The Caverns Of Doom

So I have to say this was the first great issue of Savage She-Hulk I’ve read. The others have been okay, sort of moving the story along but here everything gets crazy.
You start off with She-Hulk holding a suspension bridge together. You have to ask Well how did she get here? as people run in terror while Buck Bukowski is blaming her for everything. Buck is an asshole.

It turns out earlier that Jenn got a job working for the Roxxon Oil Company as the legal advisor and all of their oil is vanishing. Literally everyone else is suspicious and is calling them dicks. They are near their BREAKING POINT! (the secondary title of the issue).

After the PR, Buck offers Jenn a ride but he is literally so frustrating that she starts to transform. Like every part of her body is saying you need to kill this guy, it is a matter of life or death. But Jenn is too good for that so she runs off to transform and Buck is like:
Fuck you Buck.
And one of these things to note, not only does Jenn apparently only wear white undershirts, but every time she’s lost her coat and skirt or pants. It is kind of amazing that nobody has connected the dots besides Zapper and (non-mutant hating) Trask.
So while Jenn started to transform, the bridge started to collapse for mysterious reasons. As She-Hulk she was able to save the people on the bridge and then escape to safety. Over at Roxxon, all of the oil got stolen. Again! Even with security.

Cut back to Jenn in the shower for a scene that is just there for eye candy? Gasp! A naked woman’s back and the top of her butt! Fortunately this fiendish scene is cut by Zapper coming in and trying to be a rapper and a doctor but luckily for all of us, Jen gets a call from Monkton to go to the Roxxon plant and Zapper leaves after taking a blood sample. I fear we may get an afro-Hulk.

Jen’s call brings her to the Roxxon station where the rumbling causes her to fall into the oil and then transform and lose another nice suit. Luckily oil doesn’t stain white clothes or anything so she comes out wet, but clean and discovers!

Trask, I apologize for my comment about you losing your snake game. It turns out the Silver Serpent was Trask’s secret weapon he show Monkton, tied up in the Silver Serpent, in the last issue. Trask plans on using the Silver Serpent to steal all of the oil.
And then an oiled up She-Hulk starts beating on his giant Silver Serpent.
The Serpent starts thrashing before it can get it’s rocks off on She-Hulk.
So she grabs hold and starts beating it off.
Trask tosses out Monkton into the oil so he can escape in his Silver Serpent but once he started going, he couldn’t stop going down.

Literally the controls are locked so I am pretty sure he is going to die down there.
As rocks start to fall She-Hulk starts to carry Monkton back up the surface and loses strength and reverts back to Jen after tossing him up. Monkton pulls her out the rest of the way and Monkton claims that she owes him a favor. This will probably come back to bite him.

Back at the law offices Jenn has a nice clean sweater dress, Buck got put in his place an we learned She-Hulk is like the oil companies.

Next time in issue 6 of Savage She-Hulk – A Crossover! x2!
I haven’t heard of this Tony Stark cat but I hope Jen and the Savage She-Hulk puts him in his place!
