Whoever’s writing copy for Marvel should stop mainlining Chris Hardwick and energy drinks, because this comes off as less “Enthusiasm about an exciting comic featuring awesome characters with rad-ass art” and more “soulless marketing slime we drizzled over this comic to disguise its lack of substantive content which we’ve tried to compensate for with ‘internet awesome’, whatever we think that is because we’re all 40-plus, balding, impotent, and unloved by anyone, let alone anyone who would bear us children who would allow us to see what is indeed ‘with it'”, and that’s not really something that makes me want to read a comic. I’d say it reminds me of what my dad would think would sell a comic to kids, but my dad’s actually kind of cool.

David Lopez is a damn treasure. I love how the roulette wheel evokes the common visual trick of using a series of concentric circles as shorthand for DD’s radar sense, and I just know that DD symbol in the corner will have a companion in the left top corner of the final version.
